2019 was a busy year for the Caricoa keyboardist.
In March, he made his vocal debut with a six-song EP, called Soul Carioca. September brought another new album, Marcos Ariel’s Wave Hunter (his 32nd) which unites him with guitarist Enéas Marques and drummer Roberto Alemão Marques, two brothers better known as Dual Jazz.
Growing up in Rio de Janeiro’s beach districts and the surfing communities found on the way to Buzios and the Sun Coast, all three have a strong lifestyle connection with this album’s musical muse.

Songs like ‘Big Sur Cruise’ are smooth Brazilian jazz at its best, with melodies reflecting the theme on each of the eight songs.

Wave Hunter also welcomes a young singer, May, to the title track, ‘Crystal Wave’ and ‘Night Sailing’.
