AI-generated music represents a unique challenge to the artistic integrity of musicians. Connect Brazil’s position on programming AI-generated music is NO.

One: AI-generated music is not fair to artists who create real music. AI trains itself on the copyrighted work of musicians who are not compensated or protected. This violates intellectual property rights. A single AI-sample threatens unrealized income and impacts the careers of musicians.

Two: Connect Brazil serves Brazilian music fans worldwide while supporting the musicians who create the music they love. Connect Brazil’s mission is musician oriented. It’s our responsibility to nurture and protect the musician/fan relationship.

Three: AI is different than the use of synthesizers. AI can mimic the core of creativity, even to the point where the originating ‘sample’ is untraceable. Musicians will find creative ways to use AI. But musical alchemy defines the standard.

“Every minute of a station’s airtime is valuable, and truly excellent music created by performers is a better use of our audience’s time than AI-created music.”
