The idea for our very first ‘Long Songs’ show aired came when I thought it would be fun to do a program where the music matched the longer nights that marked the beginning of winter.
“Why not fill up the show with the best of the longest songs?”, I thought. Fans loved it and soon a summer version was added to help fill up the longest days.
Most of the songs we play on The Sounds of Brazil! run around three to five minutes. That makes it particularity difficult to play longer songs. So, this week, The Sounds of Brazil is a perfect showcase for those Brazilian tunes that ‘have a lot to say’.
Every song I play on The Sounds of Brazil has a story behind it, but the summer edition of ‘Long Songs’ touched on a special memory. Read my story here.
