Thanksgiving 2024 begins Connect Brazil’s 25th year Of streaming The World’s Best Music.
This thankful message from Connect Brazil is for Brazilian music fans like you and for the musicians who make the music we love.
by Scott Adams
We’ve been streaming Brazilian music daily since late 1999, but Connect Brazil took a big step forward on Thanksgiving Day, 2014. That’s when The Sounds of Brazil’s ‘always live’ streaming station made its debut.
Today marks Connect Brazil’s 25th year of streaming Brazilian music, and the beginning of our 11th year as America’s only live-streaming radio station for Brazilian music and culture.
Launch day was chosen with purpose: Thanksgiving let me express how grateful I am to be able to do what I love, and to be able to share it with you.
I am also thankful that our streaming station has grown to become America’s top independent choice for the best of Brazilian music. Our playlists bring you the best of Bossa Nova, Brazilian jazz, and crossover hits from both sides of the equator.
Thankful, too for our amazing writers who add depth to your listening experience with world-class feature stories like this:

Thankful from Day One
I created The Sounds of Brazil for you, and to give the music and the musicians who perform it a special home.
This week marks the 1,696th consecutive week for The Sounds of Brazil’s weekly show, which made its broadcast debut in Chicago in April 1992. A few months later The Sounds of Brazil moves to its Saturday home on WNUA FM with a very special ‘Meet n Greet’ with Sergio Mendes.
2022 marked Brazil’s Bicentennial year. It was also a milestone year for everything we do here. ConnectBrazil.com celebrated its 25th full year and The Sounds of Brazil its 30th.
