It would have been his first US concert tour in more than a decade. What happened?
Djavan’s Tour cancelation, one year later. Connect Brazil’s weekly digest keeps you informed and up to date with the best of Brazil. What will you discover?
Cover Story
For Brazilian jazz and MPB fans, the January 2020 announcement of Djavan’s six-city US Concert Tour had all the steam needed to spark excitement coast-to-coast.
After all, it had been more than a decade since the Brazilian superstar had stepped into the spotlight on American soil.
Tickets were snapped up quickly. Then, a few weeks later, came an unusual ‘open-ended’ postponement. The hopes of Djavan’s most passionate American fans were dashed. The promoter promised a return, but then… nothing.
So what happened? Now, a full year later, we know the details of the story.
You can read it here. We’ll even help you relive your front row, center dreams, too!
Djavan’s New Song
Now that lockdowns are easing, and with Summer just a few short weeks away, I thought that this would be a perfect time to surprise Djavan Nation with something new. I’ll debut Djavan’s new song, written by guitarist Torcuato Mariano and Carlinhos Brown later this week.
And if you just can’t wait for your daily Djavan fix, scroll down to this week’s Spotlight Song.
